Bitcoin Memcache

Just what is the Bitcoin memcache?

The memcache is where transactions are stored before they can be committed to the blockchain. When you set transaction fees too low, they can get stuck for a very long time in the memcache. Mining computers can choose what transactions they want to process, and they choose the ones with the higher fees first. If you choose too low a fee, your transfer might get stuck forever.
